Married to Richard Barnhart and live at 4400 Stringtown Road in Evansville with husband and one spoiled dog.

Step mother to five sons; Kurt, PhD head of aviation department at Kansas State University; Steve, attorney living in Florida; Jeff, computer software engineer in Denver; Scott, attorney with the Indiana Attorney General's office in Indianapolis and Capt. Bryan Barnhart, army, stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky but leaving for Afghanistan in December.

Education:

Attended elementary and high school in Providence, Kentucky, and graduated with honors from Providence High School in 1969. High School member of the Beta Club, drum major of high school band and a class leader.

Attended Western Kentucky University and graduated from the University of Evansville, School of Legal Studies.

Career:

Worked as a claims adjuster for Dollahan Claim Service, Evansville, Indiana, handling insurance claims.

Worked for AMAX Coal Company as the Community Relations Representative for Midwest Operations for eight years

Owned Indiana Paralegal Services, a freelance paralegal business.

Served for four years as the Evansville City Clerk

Served for eight years as the Clerk of the Vanderburgh Circuit Court

Served for four years on the Vanderburgh County Council, acting as president for two of those years.
